Our Silverstar winter wine tours will take you along the region known as the Scenic Sip. This winery sub-region is nestled in the rolling hills along the East shore of Lake Okanagan. Some of the Okanagan’s most spectacular and storied wineries call Lake Country home. They are yours to discover whether you choose a half day or full day adventure. Featured wineries in this region include Gray Monk, 50th Parallel, Arrowleaf Cellars, Ex Nihilo, Ancient Hill, Blind Tiger, O’Rourke’s Peak Cellars and Intrigue Wines. When it comes to the wine, Lake Country wineries are known for their aromatic whites and light bodied reds. Think Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Ehrenfelser, Zweigelt and Bacchus, just to name a few.
The wineries found along the scenic sip are generally slightly smaller in stature and production. Don’t let their size fool you as they are still top our list when it comes to quality. Ex Nihilo took back-to-back Lieutenant Governor awards for their 2013 & 2014 Pinot Noir vintages in 2015 & 2016. These wineries feel a little more intimate, and after your tour you will want to ingratiate yourself and relax with their award-winning wines. Discover how sweet the Central Okanagan can be when an experienced local shows you the ropes! Our full day Silverstar Winter wine tours include a reinvigorating stop for lunch at one of the following: Chaos Bistro @ Ex Nihilo, Block One Restaurant at 50th Parallel or the Garden Bistro @ O’Rourkes Peak Cellars. Lunch is at guest expense.
Fun Fact: Lake Country is home to where the very first block of Pinot Gris was planted in British Columbia, with only 50 vines imported from Alsace all the way back in 1976. Adventure Awaits! #adatwithdot
