The fruit
and wine that BC is
world famous for comes from the Okanagan valley.
Okanagan Lake is a central attraction in the summer
with three major cities on it's shores. Penticton
lies on the south shore, Kelowna in the middle,
and Vernon on the north shore. The lake is 80
miles long and one of the deepest in the world
at 1300 feet. Vineyards
and orchards surround the lake.
The largest working ranch in Canada is Douglas
Lake Ranch. Situated near Merrit it spreads over
600,000 acres incorporating several world class
fly-fishing lakes with camping or first class
accommodations. |
